Two things to plan for.

Parking runs up to $18 a day — the most expensive of the Southern California WCAB offices. Additional lots at 3 MacArthur Place and the nearby DoubleTree.

And transit does not really work here. The Metrolink station is about four miles away and not walkable. OCTA buses serve the area. If you do not drive, arrange the trip in advance rather than on the morning of a hearing.

Food: there is a café across the courtyard at 1 MacArthur Place with outdoor seating, and restaurants at Hutton Center. No food or drink in the waiting room or hearing rooms.

Parking is free and ample, and it is the best transit-served office in the system — the Metrolink Inland Empire–Orange County Line, Anaheim Canyon station, is directly behind the building.

One caution: the state's own page gives both "N. Link" and "North Pacificenter Drive" for this address, and some directories say Suite 160. Call ahead if you are unfamiliar with the campus.

Remote or in person: conferences and MSCs are remote; trials, expedited hearings, and walk-throughs are in person. Full detail on every office.

What to do this week

1. Report it in writing, dated.
2. File the DWC-1 and keep proof of the date.
3. Ask for the § 5402(c) treatment if you are being delayed.
4. Check the Cal/OSHA citation history for your employer — it is public, and a prior citation for the same condition supports a § 4553 petition worth one-half of everything. That petition has a 12-month deadline.
